Our production capacity of solar modules is 75MW. Our company has already achieved the CE, TUV, and IEC international standard certificates and has passed ISO9001 and ISO14001. <title>History of solar cells</title>

<description><![CDATA[ The term "photovoltaic" comes from the Greek (phōs) meaning "light", and "voltaic", meaning electric, from the name of the Italian physicist Volta, after whom a unit of electro-motive force, the volt, is named. The term "photo-voltaic" has been in use in English since 1849.
The photovoltaic effect was first recognized in 1839 by French physicist A. E. Becquerel. However, it was not until 1883 that the first solar cell was built, by Charles Fritts, who coated the semiconductor selenium with an extremely thin layer of gold to form the junctions. The device was only around 1% efficient. Subsequently Russian physicist Aleksandr Stoletov built the first solar cell based on the outer photoelectric effect (discovered by Heinrich Hertz earlier in 1887). Albert Einstein explained the photoelectric effect in 1905 for which he received the Nobel prize in Physics in 1921. Russell Ohl patented the modern junction semiconductor solar cell in 1946, which was discovered while working on the series of advances that would lead to the transistor.]]></description>

<title>CSP's IPO may see the light in 2010</title>

<description><![CDATA[ HONG KONG: China Solar Power (Holdings) Ltd (CSP), a small maker of thin-film solar cells that is operating at full capacity, plans to go public next year to raise money for its expansion plans.
The company, controlled by Shanghai-based private equity firm Tano China Capital Management Inc, also aims to bring down the cost of solar power modules to make them more competitive with conventional forms of electricity generation.
"Orders for this year and next are filled, and that's why we need to grow," Winston Lee, managing director for CSP's corporate development, said in an interview.
CSP expects its output this year to reach 25 megawatts, and to more than double in 2010. Competing mainland solar cell makers include Suntech Power Holdings Co, the world's largest solar module maker, and Trina Solar Ltd, both of which are listed in New York.
"Any mass producer of high-quality modules is primed for listing, and if by next year the market conditions are ripe for an IPO (initial public offering), then we will push ahead with it," Lee said.
Once-hot solar energy stocks have cooled amid the broader market sell-off, with shares in Suntech and Trina both down more than 75 percent over the past year.
Lee said the company is considering Hong Kong and the NASDAQ as potential listing venues. CSP, which entered the thin-film solar market last year, expects revenue to hit $140 million in 2010, up from about $20 million expected this year, Lee said.]]></description>

<title>Yingli fostering Lightway's green dreams</title>

<description><![CDATA[ Solar cell producer Yingli Group finally has a reason to smile. The company has now emerged as the one bright spot in a solar cell industry that has been mostly plagued by darkness.
The rosy fourth quarter earnings numbers have indeed cheered Yingli Chairman Miao Liansheng. But his cup of joy truly overflowed when the long sowed seeds of a friendship transformed itself into a new venture.
Miao has recently teamed up with real estate developer Longjitaihe Industry Group to set up Lightway Green Energy Corporation for manufacture of photovoltaic solar systems.
While the Baoding-based realtor will invest 4.2 billion yuan ($614.05 million) in the project, Miao's company Yingli will provide the technical and management support.
What makes the friendship unique is that Longjitaihe decided to invest at a time when the real estate industry does not even figure in the recent stimulus packages.
Miao told China Daily that the new manufacturing facility, spread over 165 acres, will have a production capacity of 600 MW by 2010.
The first phase of 300MW is expected to be completed by September this year and would contribute around $110 million of revenue, said Wei Shaojun, chairman, Lightway.
Coming back to the earnings numbers, Yingli's NYSE-listed subsidiary Yingli Green Energy, revenue in the fourth quarter rose to $258.1 million, up 21 percent year-on-year, while net income fell to $14.7 million from $19 million.
The fall in net income can be largely attributed to the weaker euro, said company officials who declined to be named.
Yingli's rivals Suntech posted a loss of $65.9 million for the fourth quarter, while LDK Solar said it expects to report a net loss of $135 million to $145 million.
"It is the whole processing system that matters. We kept a tight leash on costs for the whole manufacturing process," said Miao.
Yingli is a vertically integrated solar company that makes polysilicon from casting ingots to slicing wafers. These wafers are then placed into solar cells, which are then installed in solar modules.
According to Miao, Yingli is lowest cost solar cell manufacturer in the world as it uses four processing procedures.
Most of the other solar cell producers like Suntech only make solar cells and modules, buying products of the first two procedures.]]></description>

<title>Yingli, Slovakia ink solar module deal</title>

<description><![CDATA[ Chinese solar cell manufacturer Yingli Green Energy Holding yesterday signed a contract to supply crystalline photovoltaic-solar modules to a 9-mW power plant in Slovakia this year.
Yingli will supply more PV modules to the Slovakia power plant after it expands its capacity to 20 mW later this year, Wang Gang, general manager, Yingli Energy, Beijing Branch, told China Daily in a phone interview from Slovakia.
The contract was signed during Chinese President Hu Jintao's two-day official visit to Slovakia.
President Hu also made a proposal to start cooperative projects with Slovakia in infrastructure construction, new energy, agriculture and environment protection during his talks with Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic on Thursday.
"It is in line with the company's strategy to develop new markets in East Europe," said Wang, without disclosing the terms of the deal.
Yingli has also speeded up its development in Eastern Europe. It said last Friday that its PV modules would be installed in a 13 mW power plant in Czech Republic, producing enough electricity to supply more than 3,000 households per year.
These deals also indicate the recovery in the solar market since the second quarter of this year.
Yingli said in a statement earlier this month that it expects shipments to increase 70 percent in the second quarter, citing progress in government solar incentives in the US and China, improved weather conditions in Europe and "a visible change of industry sentiment" since the Intersolar trade show in Germany last month.
The solar industry has been hit since the end of last year due to credit freezes as a result of the financial crisis and an oversupply of solar panels cutting prices sharply.
Other solar players including top Chinese panel maker Suntech Power Holdings Co said in recent weeks that it has already seen encouraging signs of a recovery in the solar market.]]></description>
